Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks WABL Wrap Round 11

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks played the Stirling Senators in an away round at the Warwick Recreation Centre in last weekend’s WABL round of fixtures, winning six and losing nine games.

The highest individual scorers for the Benchmark Designer Homes men’s teams were Development League player Blake Smith with 32, under 20 Jake Whately with 29 and under 16 Beau Chaplin while under 16 Giordano Monteleone, under 12 Luke Simonette and 18/1 Luke Fletcher all had 27.

Under 18 division one player Jessica Hughes was the highest scorer out of the Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks’ women’s teams with 32 while under 16 Samantha Tognolini had 20, under 14 Emily Capstick 19, under 15 Lainey Stewart 15 and under 13 Chloe Smith 14.

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks under 12 men’s team had a strong 57 to 47 win over the Stirling Senators. Luke Schonemann scored one, Luke Simonette 27, Izaayah Riley two, Jordan Ridgen one, Joshua Armstrong nine, Jack Tognolini four and Jordon Herbert nine. They are in third place in the six-team northern conference with seven wins and four losses.

The under 12 women’s team had a bye for this game and remain in third conference place out of five teams with four wins and five losses.

The under 13 men’s team lost 43 to 63. Mitchell Parker scored two, Reece Hewitt seven, Braedin Goodson two, Todd Nosworthy four, Nazir Hashem six, Mitchell Matrenza two, Ryan Bride 11, Jack Collard two and Nicholas Pyne seven.   They are in sixth conference place with two wins and nine losses.

The under 13 women’s team remain in fifth conference place with one win and nine losses, after they were beaten 20 to 43. Chloe Smith scored 14, Jordan Parkin two and Kai Wineera four.

The under 14 men’s team lost 26 to 55. Kaelin Kramer had two, Connor Jansen two, Jared Pedersen six, Max Whately one, Andrew Rich two, Adam Parora 11 and Zac Huxley two. They are in second conference place out of six teams with eight wins and three losses.

The under 14 women’s team won 62 to 38, which sees them in fourth conference place out of five teams with two wins and eight losses. Every Redbacks’ player scored with Emily Capstick being the game-high scorer on 19 while Emerson Lambert had 12, Ashtyn Mason six, Amelia Khuu five, Juliet Tucker four, Gabriella Pyne six, Tayla Naudi four and Shannyn Poversbach six.

The under 15 men’s team lost 53 to 109, which sees them in fourth conference place out of six teams with five wins and six losses. Jeet Mann had four, Sean Jakens 16, Fraser Rose seven, Mitchell Steacy seven, Timothy Lewis two, Jack Wagner five, Jonathon Warren six, Kevin Tingyendu two and Jack Lowes four.

The ever-improving under 15 women lost to the Senators 43 to 94. Despite the loss each Redbacks’ player contributed to the scoreboard with Sarah Gunn scoring two, Paris McGuckin two, Alison McKelvie two, Breanna Goodson two, Lainey Stewart 15, Michelle Curro four, Kyra Law eight, Jessica Richardson six and Emily Hughes two. They are in fifth conference place with no wins and 10 losses.

The under 16 men’s team is in third conference place out of six teams with seven wins and four losses after their narrow 71 to 73 loss to the Senators. Jarrett Donker and Clint Jansen both scored four while Beau Chaplin had 28, Julian Nelthorpe two, Giordano Monteleone 27 and Jacob Marr four.

The under 16 women’s team lost 43 to 84. Taylor Burtenshaw scored two, Samantha Tognolini 20, Rachael Goodger one, Tereasa Maines nine and Alicia Matrenza four. They are in fifth conference place out of six teams with one win and 10 losses.

The under 18 division one men’s team is in fifth conference place out of six teams with one win and seven losses after their 43 to 84 loss. Matthew Ramanah scored four, Alex Jacobsen four, Alex Guillon six, Brad Smeaton 15, Giorgio Milio two, Hasula Poogoda two and Logan Viskovich 10.

The under 18 division one men’s team lost to the Senators 75 to 113. They now have a season record of no wins and 10 losses and are in sixth conference place. Luke Fletcher was the game-high scorer with a strong 27 while Darcy Smit had 11, Ashleigh Grigson two, Kevin Zhu five, Giordano Monteleone 12, Domenic Romeo four and Ben Ellis eight.

The under 18 division one women had a strong 81 to 55 win. They are in fourth conference place with three wins and six losses. All Redbacks’ players scored with Jessica Hughes continuing her recent strong form in again being the game-high scorer on 32 while Natasha Ziino had five, Emma Black two, Abbey Harris six, Bianca Parora six, Lori Ashworth three, Jessica Jakens 14, Caris Cinardo seven, Alicia O’Brien one, Tiarn Burtenshaw four and Caitlin Largue one.

The under 20 men had a strong 91 to 63 win with Jake Whately being the game-high scorer on 29 while Jamieson Lewis had 22, Sheldon Godfrey four, Steven Vigor two, Geordie Murray eight, Johno Montgomery four, Raphael Bianchini four and Ashley Flynn two. They are in third conference place out of six teams with four wins and four losses.

The Development League men’s team is in third conference place with nine wins and five losses after their 94 to 69 win over the Senators. Blake Smith top-scored with 32 while Jared Faint had 17, Jake Whately five, Tim Rendulic 10, Dale Elliot six, Ashley Stephens 15, Jamieson Lewis four and Joshua Guppy five.

The Development League women’s team won 66 to 24, which sees them remain in top conference place with 13 wins and one loss. Jessica Hughes scored two, Narelle Henry five, Gabby O’Sullivan 12, Jessica Jakens 26, Kristy Jedrzewewski two, Catherine Tinley six and Alix Hayward nine.

Round 12 sees the Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks WABL teams travelling to the East Perth Eagles home venue of the Morley Recreation Centre on Wellington Road Morley (near Walter Road). Individual game-times can be accessed via the website www.wabl.asn.au.
