Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks WABL Wrap Round 10

The Benchmark Designer Redbacks split the ledger with the Kalamunda Eastern Suns with 8 wins apiece in round 10 of the Western Australian Basketball League fixtures.

Under 20s’ men’s team player Joshua Guppy was the highest Benchmark Designer Redbacks’ scorer on the day with 31 while under 15 men’s team player Giordano Monteleone had 27 and under 16 players Luke Fletcher and Domenic Romeo both had 26. Under 18s player Jessica Jakens was the top-scorer of the women players with 24 while under 15 Samantha Tognolini had 17 and under 12 player Samantha Campbell had 14.

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks’ under 12 men’s team got the day underway with a positive result in a thrilling 40 to 39 win against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns. Kyle Bowen top-scored with 13 while Luke Simonette had 12, Daniel Ong 8, Joshua Armstrong 4, Nicholas Pyne 2 and Reece Hewitt 1. They have now won five games straight and lost 3 and sit in 3rd place in the Northern Conference out of five teams.

The under 12 women’s team lost 18 to 56. Samantha Campbell top-scored with 14 while Chloe Smith had 4. They now 1 win and 9 losses and sit in 5th conference place out of 6 teams.

The under 13 men’s team narrowly lost 38 to 40. They now have a season record of 5 wins and 5 losses and are in 3rd conference place out of 6 teams. Nicholas Ramsay top-scored with 10, Max Whately had 9, Adam Parora 6, Jordan Hands 4, Stephen Pover 3 while Ibrahim Soliman, Daniel Skelton and Alex Mancini all scored 2.

The under 13 women’s team lost 18 to 52. Emerson Lambert top-scored with 7 while Chloe Smith had 4 and Talethia Valentine and Tayla Naudi had 2. They now have 2 wins and 7 losses and sit in 4th conference place out of 5 teams.

The under 14 men’s team had a strong 57 to 20 win. They are now in 3rd conference place out of 6 teams with 6 wins and 4 losses. Matthew Biletic top-scored with 13, Shaquille Maharaj had 11, Jeet Mann 10, Sean Jakens 8, Dion Street 5, Jonathon Warren 4, Matthew Newell 2 and Connor Jansen 1.

Conversely, the under 14 women lost 20 to 57. Kyra Law scored 6, Michelle Curro 5, Rebecca Sampson 4 and Jessica Richardson 2. They are in 5th conference place with 0 wins and 9 losses.

The under 15 men’s team is now in 3rd conference place out of 6 teams with 7 wins and 3 losses following their big 90 to 38 win. Giordano Monteleone top-scored with 27 while Jarret Donker had a strong 16, Alex Bevilaqua 13, Lattrell Matthews and Lloyd Harwood 10, Jacob Marr 7, Clint Jansen 3 and Julian Nelthorpe and Yoseph Soliman both had 2.

The under 15 women’s team lost 34 to 81. Samantha Tognolini had 17, Michelle Curro 4 and Jessica Richardson, Blade Wilison and Natasha Hansen all had 2. The now have 1 win and 8 losses for the year and are in 5th conference place out of 6 teams.

The under 16 men’s team is in 5th conference place out of 6 teams with 3 wins and 7 losses, following their 90 to 74 win. All players scored with Luke Fletcher and Domenic Romeo top-scoring with 26, Liam Briggs 14, David Frreissbourg-Mari 8, Conor Kelly 5, Matthew Ramanah 4, Jake Staunton 3, Hasula Poogoda 2 and Darren Lopez 2.

The under 20 men’s team lost 61 to 102. Joshua Guppy had 31, Ashley Flynn 13, Tighe Rodgers 8, Ryan Vincent 6, Jarryd Doherty 2 and Jordan Ah-Chee 1. They are in 8th place out of 9 teams with 2 wins and 7 losses.

The Men’s Development League team maintained their top-conference place out of 6 teams following their 83 to 59 win. They now have a season record of 9 wins and 1 loss. All players scored with Michael Vigor being their top-scorer with 22, Ashley Stephens next with 17 while Jarrad Jackson had 11, Reece Dempster 10, Blake Smith 9, Jake Whately, Dale Elliot, Ben Cecins and Jared Faint all having 3 and Tim Rendulic 2.

The Redbacks’ women’s team won 71 to 36. This sees them in 2nd conference place out of 6 teams with 8 wins and 2 losses. Alix Hayward top-scored with 20, Jacinta Bourne 17, Lattoya Wallace 14, Frances Clarke 6, Natasha Nicholson 5, Monique Kickett 4, Gabby O’Sullivan 2 and Catherine Tinley 2.
