Kalamunda add Schwag to lineup

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns have bolstered their 2014 playing roster with the signing of import Alison Schwagmeyer.

Alison is a 23 year old guard / forward who has played two seasons of first division basketball in Germany.

Kalamunda unveiled their new import on Friday as they took on the Willetton Tigers at Willetton Basketball Stadium. Schwagmeyer recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals to help the Eastern Suns to a convincing 28 point victory.

Kalamunda head coach Craig Mansfield is thrilled with the new signing.

"We were very excited to get interest from her after seeing footage and looking at her performances in such a quality league.  We wanted to bring in another versatile perimeter player with a good physical presence that rebounds well for her position".

"We have brought her in at Suns to help us cover for players with injury and we believe if we can return everyone to health at the right time of the year we will have a great opportunity as a team".

"All the references on Ali were that she is a hard worker with a positive attitude and so far she has proven this and fits in well with her team mates".

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns will now look to their next game against the South West Slammers at Ray Owen Sports Centre on Sunday.
