Week Five Players of the Week

Collie Crane Hire South West Slammers Player/Coach Ty Harrelson has taken out his second Player of the Week award after two stellar performances and a 1-1 record in week five.

On Friday night Harrelson led all scorers with 34 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in his side’s 13 point loss to Willetton.

That performance was backed up with a near triple-double in a win over the reigning champions Cockburn. Harrelson led his team with 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in the nine point win.

Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers import Brandon Adams was unlucky to miss out on the weekly honours with two strong performances in his sides split weekend.

Adams had 29 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over the Slammers, the next night he finished with 32 points and 11 rebounds in a four point loss to Stirling.

Other players in consideration for the award were Drew Williamson (East Perth), Robert Kampman (Geraldton), Luke Nevill (Kalamunda), Tom Jervis (East Perth), Damian Matacz (Wanneroo), Michael Lay (Perry Lakes), Adrian Majstrovich (Perry Lakes), Jamahr Warren (South West), Gavin Field (Cockburn), Jordan Wild (Stirling), Justin Brown (Perth), Cooper Land (Rockingham), Justin Cecil (Lakeside), Aaron Ralph (Geraldton), Markhuri Sanders-Friston (Goldfields), Taylor Mullenax (Mandurah) and Steven Bennett (Rockingham).

West Coast Waves star and Willetton forward Lisa Wallbutton put in a strong showing to claim the week five women’s award.

The Tigers won both outings starting with a 74-70 overtime victory against the Slammers where Wallbutton finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds.

That performance was backed up with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Stirling in a 78-65 win.

Celebrating her 300th game, Rockingham forward Kaye Tucker put in strong claims for the award with 28 points and 9 rebounds in a 72-62 win over the Redbacks. She backed that up with 14 points and 5 rebounds in a 13 point win over Lakeside.

Other players in consideration for the award were Melissa Moyle (Kalamunda), Liz Cooke (East Perth), Shani Amos (Wanneroo), Belinda Mayger (Perry Lakes), Kim Sitzmann (South West), Stephanie Jones (Cockburn), Amber Land (Stirling), Rachel Lisch (Perth), Mary-Alice Telfer (Rockingham) and Krystal Stoneking (Lakeside).
