Wolves look to keep away record intact (Round 8 men's preview)

Wanneroo Wolves will be hoping their form away from home continues when they make the trek to Geraldton on Saturday night to face the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers are looking to return to the playoffs after a surprise year out of the top eight in 2011 and the defending champions will be a tough assignment.

Geraldton will also be hoping a last minute approval for import Morgan Sabia arrives in time to boost their playing stock.

Goldfields Giants also face a crucial assignment when they face the 7-2 Perth Redbacks with import Darnell Dialls set to make his first appearance of 2012.

The return of Dialls could not come soon enough for the 4-5 Giants who are just outside the top eight and also surprisingly missed the finals in 2011.

Mandurah Magic will be hoping to put their big loss to Cockburn last week behind them when they host the undefeated Lakeside Lightning.

The Magic had won six out of their first eight games but last week dropped their third game of the season to Cockburn by a surprising 40 points.

The third placed Cockburn will be looking to continue that strong form when they host the Stirling Senators who come into the game having won their past two.

While the Senators are in good form and sit in fifth position with a 5-5 record they have dropped all five of their games to teams inside the top eight this season.

The Perry Lakes Hawks have dropped three of their past five games and will be hoping to find some form against the 2-7 South West Slammers.

South West on the other hand will be hoping their home fans can get them over the line after going down by just five points last week in Kalgoorlie.

Willetton Tigers will also be looking to find some winning form when they host the bottom placed Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

The Tigers went down to the top of the table Lightning last week by just six points in overtime, all five of their losses in 2012 have been by an average of just 3.8 points.

East Perth Eagles (3-7) will host the Rockingham Flames (2-8) in an important clash for both teams to stay in touch with the top eight.
