Tanya Kelly - 400 SBL Games
The State Basketball League congratulates Total Connections Perry Lakes Hawks guard Tanya Kelly who will play her 400th game on Saturday night against the Metropolis Fremantle Cockburn Cougars.
Kelly commenced her SBL career back in 1996 with the Willetton Tigers where she played three seasons before moving to the Hawks in 1999.
Since then Kelly has played 13 seasons with the Hawks and 16 seasons in the SBL for a total of 399 games.
On Saturday 6 August when her Hawks tackle the Cougars in game two of the quarter finals series, Kelly will hit hte 400 mark.
The guard is one of the most succesful in the league, having played in 12 Grand Finals in her 16 seasons. She was a part of the Perry Lakes Hawks team that won three Championships in a row in 2001-2003.
Kelly played in a Grand Final in every one of her first nine seasons in the league and has only missed the last game of the year in 2005, 2006 and 2009.
The star guard was also the MVP of the SBL in 2006 an lists career highlights as playing with the Perth Lynx in the WNBL and going on an All Star tour of China/Thailand in 1999.
