Williamson, Jervis led Eagles past Cougars (Friday Night Wrap)

Cockburn Cougars have dropped out of the men's State Basketball League top two for the first time all season after losing 96-79 to the in-form East Perth Eagles.

The Cougars finished the first 14 rounds of the season in a top two spot but are unlikely to be in there at the end of round 15 after Perth Wildcats guard Drew Williamson (23 points) led East Perth to its fourth-straight win.

Tom Jervis, who spent the past week in the Australian Boomers training camp and finished the game with 14 points and 15 rebounds, also helped the sixth-placed Eagles hand Cockburn just its sixth loss of the year, despite the best efforts of Stanley Ocitti (21 points and 18 rebounds).

Wanneroo Wolves replaced Cockburn in second spot with a comfortable 115-86 win against Rockingham Flames.

Damian Matacz had 23 points to help Wanneroo to its fourth-straight win, while handing Rockingham its fourth-consecutive loss.

Lakeside Lightning's dominant form continued with a 108-90 home win against Perth Redbacks, who dropped out of the top eight with the loss.

Import Luke Payne helped the league leaders extend their winning streak to nine games with 34 points.

Stirling Senators replaced the Redbacks in the top eight after they beat Goldfields Giants 103-92, thanks largely to Lee Roberts (27 points and 19 rebounds).

Defeat left the Giants outside the top eight and on a four-game losing streak.

And defending champions Willetton Tigers recovered from their humiliating 60-point loss to Lakeside last week with a 99-92 win against the eighth-placed Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

In women's action, Lakeside bumped the Redbacks out of the top eight after beating them 63-56, thanks to Heidi McNeill's 21 points.

Elsewhere, East Perth beat Cockburn 88-74, Wanneroo thrashed Rockingham 75-35 and Willetton's game against Kalamunda was postponed due to unsafe playing conditions.
