Lauren Jackson to play in Perth on Saturday

Saturday 12 December will prove to be a treat for basketball fans with World Champion Lauren Jackson playing against the Go for 2&5 Perth Lynx at Perry Lakes Stadium.  The Go for 2&5 Perth Lynx and Canberra TransACT Capitals will meet for a 7.30pm tip–off and the game promises to be an be an action-packed night for Lynx fans and those keen to see Jackson, a living legend of sport.

The Perth Lynx are working hard towards the challenge facing them on 12 December.  Says Perth Lynx Coach Vlad Alava;

"It is a terrific opportunity for not only Perth fans but all Australian basketball fans in general to witness Lauren Jackson- the World's best player- on our home court.  She has, and continues to be a great ambassador for the game of basketball as well as womens sport.

Canberra was already going to be a great challenge and with the addition of Lauren, we will need to pull out all stops to prepare for the game. I'm sure our players will be looking forward to the clash, a chance to measure up against the reigning champions with the addition of the World's MVP. What a challenge!"

American Import Danielle Campbell will most likely be Jackson’s match-up for this game.  At 193 cm tall, she is only three centimetres shy of the former Opals star.  Campbell has played with Purdue Boilermakers and aspires to play in the WNBA.

Says Danielle “ “Playing in the WNBA has always been a dream for me so to play against a skilled and experienced WNBA player such as Lauren Jackson is an honour which I look forward to.”

Enquiries for ticket sales are already coming in.  To accommodate for this, advance tickets can be purchased over the phone on 9284 0555 (MasterCard and Visa only) and Corporate boxes are available.  Perth Lynx fans are encouraged to show their support next Saturday and take part on a special competition on the night - the best home-made Lynx supporter banner will be judged at three quarter time and the winner will receive four tickets to an upcoming Perth Lynx game in the New Year.
