Referee Coach Training Courses - 2013
Basketball Queensland will be conducting the following Referee Coach training courses in 2013:
Date : Saturday 16 March 2013
Venue : Brisbane International Virginia Motel, Cnr Sandgate Rd & Zillmere Rd, Boondall
Time : 12:30pm to 3:30pm
Cost : NO CHARGE – participants must register by Wednesday 13 March (see below for details)
Participants must be over the age of 16 and meet the following criteria:
· Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card (if 18 or older)
· Active at Association level as a referee or referee coach
The Grade 0 Referee Coaches Course is for people who are “starting out” in referee coaching and
who would be working with local junior or senior competition referees.
Date : Friday 3 May to Sunday 5 May 2013
(run in conjunction with Under 18 State Championships)
Venue : Runaway Bay Sports Centre
Cost : NO CHARGE – participants will be expected to referee coach during the championship
Participants for the Grade 1 Referee Coach Course will be living on-site with the referees and
referee coaches for the Under 18 State Championships, which runs from Friday 3 May to Monday
6 May. Pre-tournament camp commences 6pm Thursday 2 May.
Participants will be doing theory sessions and then observing and doing practical training on
games in the Under 18 State Championships.
Participants must be over the age of 18 and meet the following criteria:
· Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card
· Active at Association level as a referee or referee coach
· Completed a Level 1 Referee Course (or equivalent)
The Grade 1 Referee Coaches Course is for referee coaches who are already active at either
domestic or representative level. Once the theory section is completed, participants would then
referee coach at D-League level and junior representative level (BQJBC/CDC/TON).
Practical assessment consists of 3 separate evaluations by 3 separate assessors.
