U/20 Australian National Championships &

Ivor Burge Championships

Ipswich basketball Association (IBA) is excited for the opportunity to showcase its organisation and the wider region when it hosts the Under 20 National Championship & Ivor Burge Championship in February next year.

We are particularly eager to see the talent that will be on display as the nation’s finest junior basketball players converge upon Ipswich to battle it out for the National title!

National championships are often a significant pathway for an Australian basketball player. Many of Australia's best players, past and present, have taken part in the Australian Junior Championships before going on to represent Australia at elite levels including the Olympics

We are excited to be able to provide the opportunity for Ipswich Basketball and the local community to be a key part of this elite event and we are seeking a number of dedicated volunteers to help out from the 14^th – 20^th of February, 2016. Volunteers will be needed during the day and into the early evening (times are not yet set and will be confirmed closer to the date).
This will be a great opportunity to be involved in a national event with some of Australia's elite young athletes,

Some of the roles and areas of responsibility that will be filled include-

• Scoretable & Statistician Personnel
• Team Liaison Officers
• Court Announcers
• Court Marshalls
• Video Operators
• Canteen Volunteers
• Door Personnel
• Floor Wipers
• First Aid

Volunteers must be aged 15 & over.
