METEORETTES WELCOME THE RETURN OF RACHEL

The Global Product Search Meteorettes have an extremely tough match up this weekend against the defending QBL champions in the Rockhampton Cyclones but can take comfort in the fact that Rachel Gange will be suiting up in the Meteorettes uniform and joining her teammates for the first time in 2016.

Rachel has been a stand out in the QBL for the past 6 Years and will once again be a major piece in the Meteorettes push for a title in 2016.

Since arriving in Mackay in 2010, recovering from a knee injury after a stellar college career at Baylor University, who would have known that she would be in Mackay 7 years later and playing at the level that she does.  Rach has fallen in love with Mackay and the basketball public have fallen in love with the intensity and passion she plays with.

Global Product Search Head Coach Mick Virgo was extremely happy to have Rachel back in the line up.  “ It’s great to have Rachel in the line up for Round 3 and what better time for her to be back than this week against Rockhampton.  Rachel provides leadership and intensity on both ends of the floor and will give the team a huge lift leading into Sunday’s game against the defending champions.”

Gange was also excited to be returning to the Meteorettes for the first time in 2016.  “  It has been a wonderful last month for me, getting married and spending time with my family, but I am extremely determined to help get the Meteorettes back to the top in 2016.  We have a great group of girls, and we are ready to take on a massive challenge this Sunday, against Rockhampton.”  “I am extremely excited about what the 2016 season holds for us and I can’t wait to hit the floor in front of the Mackay crowd for the first time this year.  We are going to need the support on Sunday and throughout the year, so it would be great to see everyone get down on Sunday to support both teams”, Rachel said.

The CQ Rivalry 2016 Tips Off this Sunday at McDonald’s Mackay Stadium at 1pm.
