CAPTAIN CEDAR SIGNS TO LEAD THE MCDONALD’S METEORS IN 2018

The McDonald’s Mackay Meteors are proud to announce that the first signing to the 2018 McDonald’s Meteors roster is Chris Cedar.  The captain of the past 3 years, has put pen to paper and is extremely excited in what the season ahead holds for the team.  Cedar said “ Having such a great year in 2017, but not coming away with the title has left a little fire in the belly to go one better in 2018.  We have a wonderful core group of players right now and hopefully all will return and I’m am looking forward to taking the floor with all the boys again next year.  It is an honour to captain this team and I know we all were left a little gutted after the final series this year, but the goal is to go one better in 2018.

Mackay Basketball Business Development Manager, Wade Rebetzke said, “ It was a huge priority of the club to have Chris signed for next year and we are extremely excited that he has committed to lead the team in 2018.  Everyone saw what Chris is capable of , especially in Game 3 of last years finals when he scored 50 points, despite the loss and the year that he had was exceptional.  His leadership qualities are integral to this group and we are looking forward to him showing those qualities both on and off the floor again in 2018.  Needless to say there was a lot of interest from other clubs in the state with regards to Chris and we are very grateful that he has decided to stay and play in Mackay.

The McDonald’s Meteors will continue their recruitment for the 2018 season and will hope to have some more announcements in the next couple of weeks.
