QBL men last home game for 2011!!

Northside secured the right to host a Quarter-Final last week with a crushing 87-70 win over the Capitals. Star recruit Chris Goulding came up big, finishing the match with a game high 33 points, while also contributing 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block, to take out the Round 14 Player of the Week Award.

Josh Van den Brule also had a strong match with 15pts & 16rebounds, and his tough inside presence complements the work done by Goulding and Gleeson on the perimeter. The Wizards had a torrid middle part of the season, dropping three games on the trot, but have won four of their past five matches to enter the finals series in top form.

Ipswich have struggled for consistency throughout the year, finishing the regular season with a 9-9 record. The Force showed their unpredictability in Round 14, hammering Maroochydore 105-68 in their first game of the weekend and then losing to the lowly ranked Pirates 98-83 the following day. Brad Williamson continued his fine shooting form with 33 points @ 64.7% against the Clippers, while Zac Compton showed that he has found his feet in the League with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

In the only meeting between the two teams this season, Goulding and Williamson almost went basket for basket, with Goulding finishing the match with 43 points, while Williamson had 45 points. However, Goulding’s supporting cast  did more to get the Wizards over the line 96-87.  Ryan Stolberg was missing for the Force in the Round 11 match and his inclusion for this game gives Ipswich a massive boost, but the Wizards should still have the depth and experience across the court to end their finals hoodoo.

Come on Wizards fans, get to the game and show your support!!
