2008 Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup

Players, coaches and team officials representing SA Country Basketball have returned from one of the most successful tours in the cups 21 year history. With teams in all age groups reaching either semi or grand finals games.

The concept of an Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup was created over twenty one years ago when representatives from South Australian Country, New South Wales Country and Victoria Country met to discuss a "development" program for their outstanding players.

Over the years the "Country Cup" has developed into the most professional and innovative National Title on the Australian Basketball calendar.

Whilst the standards are high and continue to rise, competition is fierce on the court the original "development" aspect of the Cup has been maintained and become remarkably successful. Development of all coaches attending the cup has been a priority over the past few years with the introduction of the Tasman Coaches Clinic. This year NSWIS Head Coach and Emus Assistant Coach Damian Cotter was the guest presenter, this proved to be a huge success as 120 coaches assembled for this two hour clinic.

SA Country Basketball view the ACJBC along with the PCS (Pacific Coast Slam) as an integral part of the State Representative and Development program
