2008 Senior Country Championships



Port Augusta & Eastern Hills were the winners of the A Grade Men's & Women's competition respectively in the SA Country Basketball Senior Country Championsips which were held last week-end.

Port Augusta defeated Riverland 44-35 in the Men's final and Eastern Hills defeated Riverland 34-28 Women's A Grade final.

Winners of other grades were as follows.

B Grade Women       Adelaide Plains

C Grade Men             Eastern Hills

C Grade Women       Riverland Masters

Most Valuable Players awards for the respective grades were as follows

A Grade Men             Phil Smith                   Eastern Hills

A Grade Women       Tess Dempsey          Riverland

B Grade Men              Luke Liddiard           Southern Yorke Peninsula

B Grade Women       Jodie Poulton            Bordertown

C Grade Women       Cathy Griffen             Great Southern

C Grade Men             Paul Searl                  Eastern Hills

MVP for the Women's & Men's Grand Finals were won by Tenille Searl from Eastern Hills and Shane Curnow from Port Augusta respectively.

Men's A Grade Grand final referees were Matt Ryan & Justin Dixon.

Women's A Grade Grand final referees were Nikki Ireland & Mark Searles.

Most improved referee was awarded to Neil Frost.
