Razors' Blade dulled at the Shelldome.

Friday 6th June, the High Lube Roller Hawks chalked up their 3rd successive win to maintain a perfect home court record to date and raise the roof at the Shelldome for the legendary home court fans.

Razorbacks were depleted in numbers, with their female contingent away with the Gliders and their Juniors up at the Nationals in Cairns (also with Roller Hawks junior, Luke Pople).  Sachs, Taylor, Dowler and Skuse were however still a power on their own, with the lead changing 8 teams in the early game period.

As the game progressed and particularly in the final quarter, they ran out of push and the shooting accuracy had dropped considerably (Roller Hawks 65% to Razors 38%). Errol Hyde, registered with the Pigs mid-week to complete the 5 line up roster, was a more than solid contributer  and said after the game "It was good to be out there back in the fray and out of retirement yet again." Troy Sachs was valiant leading the Pigs with 29pts and 15 rebounds, even though under much duress with a broken finger and shoulder injury.

For the 'Home Boys', "Sticky" Stibners was dynamite, even though just getting off the plane 48  hrs before after a 9 month stint in Spain. His 23pts 12 rebound effort,  with that of Captain Tristan Knowles 34pts and 14 rebounds, delighted the home town crowd with excellent manoeuvring and passing in the paint. With 10 and 11 assists a piece, both recorded Triple Doubles for the game.

Spanish import Jesus Martin was an instant hit (explosion) both on and off the court. His 12 pt haul at a 67% accuracy rate was more than enough to bring a smile to Coach Jim Williams  but the fans meter scored him at the top of the mercury with his lightening quickness and chair manoeuvrability.

The only worry the Team now has it seems, is "Sticky's self-appointed role of improving Jesus'  English speaking skills.
