Each Friday we receive information from the various Councils on what ground restrictions we have on the football fields in the region. We then work through Junior and Senior fixtures to try and play as many games as we can. If we have to postpone or cancel games or a division, we do try and share it amongst the different divisions.

We have usually completed making all the changes to the draws by 6pm on a Friday afternoon. Although occasionally there are further changes on Friday night or Saturday and Sunday morning if the weather worsens.

Please go to your fixture to check for any changes -any transfers, postponements or cancellations can be found on the actual game – go to “Fixtures/Results” and go to your game.

If it is transferred, postponed, cancelled or a default, it will say it on your actual game.

Now Postponed (for senior and U17 games) – means that the games will not go ahead as scheduled, but will be rescheduled to another date/time later in the season, e.g. at the end of the current round.

Now Cancelled – means that the games are not to be able to be played. For junior leagues – where possible these will be played at the end of the current round.

We will also post an update to on the website and on our Facebook and Twitter pages advising that the the changes are up, and try to keep everyone up to date as much as we can. Please check your game though, as that is where the most up-to-date information will be.

Please DO NOT use to the various Council websites to see if grounds are open or closed for the weekend’s fixtures, as they have advised us which fields we can use.

On occasion, due to significant or forecast weather changes there is sometimes the need to cancel games after Friday evening.

In the event of late or mass postponements/cancellations (i.e. Saturday/Sunday mornings) please refer to the Capital Football facebook page and homepage news area in the first instance until the fixture information can be updated.

The decision on late cancellations will be made by 7.00am on game day.

For junior games, in the event that you turn up to a game and for the field of play is not suitable to play on (i.e. it is under water) or the weather changes to make it unsafe for junior players (e.g. a hail storm) please discuss with the opposition and agree on whether to play.

For in-house First Kicks or Fun Football (7/8th grades games) please also check with your club coordinator as some clubs offer an indoor option.
