KB Ready To Lead Warrandyte's Boys Program
Firstly, I am truly blessed to be given such an opportunity to start this new journey with the Menâs program at Warrandyte. Our success will be based on 3 letters that I hold close to my heart ABC, Attitude, Belief and Commitment. If we strive to excel in these areas the wins will take care of themselves.
I truly believe that the success of our program will come from our Junior program. It is essential that you provide them with an environment where they are able to learn the fundamentals of the Basketball and also assist them in becoming respected young men in the community. I personally will make myself available in this process as this is a huge part of my appointment. I look forward to becoming a recognised face in the community helping shape the image of the Venom Menâs Basketball family.
There will be no magic or miracle performed, but our journey will be fuelled and achieved by playing hard, playing smart, playing together. My philosophy is that we have many souls at Warrandyte, but only one heartbeat! Defence will be our foundation if we can establish a work ethic on defence that limits our opponents scoring, make it difficult for them to score our dream of duplicating the Womenâs success will not be far away. If we get this part of our game right it will propel the up tempo offence I would like to play. In between all that we must win the battle of the boards, because you can do all the hard work on defence and not finish off by allowing your opponent more than one shot attempt will hurt.
I am excited about this challenge and I anticipate being a positive motivating force in Redbacks and Venom Basketball, that will see our program become the place where young kidâs will dream of wearing the Black and Red. I would like to say a big thank you to my long time friend who give me a great endorsement that help me get the job Peter Unwin. I also need to thank Doug Hilton, Ian Wood and Justin Nelson for having the belief and confidence that I can assist in the direction of the new journey.
