Venom Bow Out Of Big V Finals Race
Warrandyte Venom's men and women have bowed out of the Big V finals race, but it didn't come without a huge effort on the road by both teams.
The men battled hard up at Mildura against the unbeaten Heat, but couldn't get the job done despite a fantastic team effort, going down 63-87 to bring the curtain down on a memorable first season.
The women traveled to Warrnambool to take on the formidable Mermaids. Despite a poor game on Saturday night that saw the Venom shoot at a lowly 15 per cent, the team bounced back hard on Sunday and went within a whisker of upsetting the home team, losing 46-52 in an epic battle.
The Venom Big V team awards will be presented at the WBA Awards Night on Saturday September 18 at Warrandyte South Hall. All club members and families are invited, entry is free, byo drinks and nibbles, the event starts at 7pm.
