Level 1 Statistics Course
In February 2009, Basketball SA is hosting a Level 1 training course for budding statisticians. The course will be run by NBL/WNBL panel members.
Clubs that participate in the Central ABL provide volunteer statisticians for each home game. In addition, South Australia is hosting the Under 18 Australian Junior Championships at Starplex in April and statisticians are required for each game.
Most clubs rely on a small group of statisticians and we are hoping that this course will help to alleviate this situation. However, please don't think that attendance at the course is a contract to volunteer! Your interest in statistics may be just to allow you to take stats at a junior level, or you may be interested in assisting your club with the occasional senior game.
Following are the details of the course:
When: Sunday February 8 2009 (interpretation, calling protocol) and Sunday February 15 2009 (computer entry using LiveStats)
Time: 1:30pm – 4:30pm on both days
Where: Apollo Dining Room, Distinctive Homes Dome
Please bring a laptop if you can (preferred but not essential).
