Sabres Women Take Down The Mavs
Eastern Mavericks (56) lost to Sturt Sabres (99)
The Sabres Women were an education in team work when they defeated the Mavs on their home turf on Saturday.
Sturt's ability to open up their offensive key unlocked the game for the Sabres. They managed 25 assists to Easterns 13; 62 points in the paint compared to 18 for the Mavs and 17 second chance points compared to 8.
The Mavericks defense remained tenacious and they clocked up 20 turnovers, 38 rebounds and 6 steals. Eastern even managed to score equal points in the final quarter but the Sabres had made their mark in the first quarter and proved too hard for the Mavs catch.
