Former Greats Honoured
At the 2013 Halls Woollacott awards ceremony, Basketball SA will be retrospectively awarding Halls and Woollacott medals to a number of former greats of our sport.
The current voting system for these prestigious awards allows for the awarding of multiple medallions in the case of a tie. However, for a period in the awards’ history, in cases where multiple players finished equal first in the vote count, a “count back” system was used to determine a single winner, by comparing the number of first, second and third preference votes.
As a result, a number of great players missed out on receiving the league’s highest honour.

Basketball SA congratulates these worthy winners and will acknowledge their achievements at the 2013 awards ceremony on Sunday August 25 at the Grand Chancellor Hotel.
