The 2nd Consultation for Fiji was held in Suva today focusing on data collection and analysis across sport, physical education and physical activity in Fiji.
A big thank you to the Research Team and Facilitators Mata'afa Dr Desmond Amosa (Samoa), Ms Lusiana Rokoura (Fiji) and Jackie Lauff of Sport Matters.
Partiipcants included representatives from National Federations, Government and Civil Society Organisations with the objectives to:
- Introduce the RVSP project on 'Maximising the Contribution of Sport to Sustainable Development in the Pacific: Case studies on the economic and social impact of sport in Fiji and Samoa".
- Present key findings and available data from the Fiji case study
- Assess national situation for collection and analysis of data across, physical activity and physical education
- Agree on a set of recommendations to strngthen data collection and analysis in Fiji to better inform national policy development and maximise the contribution of sport to national development in Fiji
