WIDE BAY U14 SQUAD ANNOUNCED

The Wide Bay Tigers that will venture down to Ballina to play in the Country South Championships will be one of the strongest sides to represent the region in some time. Coach of the side, Graham Gale has been impressed with the talent at his disposal and that has been represented by the talent that has been left out of the final team.

The team will play Northern Rivers and Darling Downs before a comibined All Star team will be announced to play the Gold Coast U14 Squad. The Sunshine Coast selectors will be there to select Wide Bay boys to add to the Power U14 Squad for the State Championships in the first week of the school holidays.

WIDE BAY 18S CONTINUE THEIR DOMINANCE OVER DARLING DOWNS

Wide Bay and Darling Downs came together at Maroochydore for the annual end of summer regional challenge. Both sides were under strength but that made for a good contest throughout the game. It was fantastic to see DD there at all with the devastating summer that they had to bear and the losses they recieved in the region.

LOCAL BOYS FIGHT THEIR WAY INTO STATE SQUAD

Four local players have been included in the upcoming lightning carnival games that will lead to the final State team selection. Rory Pope (Bombers), Sam Daff (Brothers), Patty Power (ATW) and Dylan Alexander aka Pickles (Maryborough) have all been given a chance to go further. The process for the boys is as follows:

COBRAS SLITHER INTO HISTORY!!

The newly formed Central Coast Cobras performed extremely well at their first ever State U16 Championships. The Cobras are made up of players from Mackay, Capricornia and Wide Bay (with some Darling Downs players!).more

North vs South Game Training Sunday 3 October

There will be training at Across the Waves this Sunday 3rd Oct at 10am for those that are U18 or have been chosen through the Brisbane Lions Cup Compititon to compete in the North vs South Game on October 17th. Training is for the Nth boys only.more

WIDE BAY 16s FIND IT TOUGH IN ROCKHAMPTON

An under strength U16 team found the going hard in Rockhampton at the State Country Championships. With two less players travelling than normal, six games in two days was always going to be tough!more

TIGHT FINISH ALLOWS KOOKA'S THROUGH TO GRAND FINAL

Despite a four pont losss to a fast finishing Western Tiapans, the Country Kookaburra's have topped their pool and earnt the right to a Grand Final match up against the unbeaten South Eastern Bushrangers.more

KOOKABURRA'S SCORE A GOLDEN WIN

A rampant last quarter by a hungry Kookaburra side saw off a classy Gold Coast unit in the first round of the championships. Having not had much success over the last few years, the song rang out loud and clear from some very jubilant players.more

Rep Training Starts 3 March At 5pm at Acrooss The Waves

Training starts tonight for u/14 and u/16 Rep sides in Bundaberg. Hoping for a good turn out in both age groups, although the weather has been ordinary it be great if we can get a good response from both Brothers and ATW.more

U18 Country South Team

A new annual event was started this year with our players playing Darling Downs in Brisbane for the start of the rep selection process. Our day earlier arrival then Darling Downs appeared to hold us in good stead against our southern neighboursmore

U14 and U16 Representative Training squads

The training dates for the U14 and U16 Wide Bay Representative squads ia attached.
The U16 training will culminate at the 2010 State Country Championships in Rockhampton on the weekend of the 24th April.
The U14 program is more extended and will see the first stage being played in Gympie on the same weekend.more

The U18 selection games have been planned differently this year with a weekend camp in Brisbane for the Wide Bay players.more

With training starting on Wednesday 13th in both regions, good numbers are expected in attendance. Only four weeks left until the games in Brisbane so there is only a limited time left to prepare.

TRAINING OVER CHRISTMAS

Attached is Craig Starcevich's training program for over Christmas. It allows some choice and should be straight forward to work through. Any queries, give me a call.
I will add the squad to the site on Sunday.
I will be running from my place (49 Turrum) at 8.30am Sunday, down to the beach (5km?) for some walking in the water. Finish at 9.30am at about Margaret St, Uranganmore

LAST SUMMER TRAINING SESSION 2009 IN HERVEY BAY

The last session on Wednesday 16th December will be a run on the roads so you can judge where your fitness is at. It will be interval based and broken into different parts.more

The Sunday training in Bundaberg has been cancelled and replaced with the combined training in Hervey Bay when Craig starcevich comes up.

CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR TRAINING - 27TH NOV

Friday's training session in Hervey Bay will now be held at the Urangan beach near the end of Alexander St. Unfortunately, due to the unavailability of a lot of people due to schoolies and exams, we had to cancel the trip by Luke Curran. We will however have Craig Starcevich joining us at the Bombers on December the 11th at 4.45pm. Friday the 4th of December will be announced early next week.more
