Mackay Auskicker Blake Hanks hasn't stopped talking about playing on the Gabba since he got home after the weekend.
He was part of the North Queensland NAB AFL Auskick Team of the Year along with fellow Mackay player and friend Riley Wilson.
The two entered the competition to be part of the team by writing to AFL Queensland explaining in 25 words or less why they are North Queensland's most passionate Auskickers.
"I have loved footy all my life," Blake Hanks wrote. "AFL is the best! I can't wait for Friday night so I can play Auskick with my friends!"
Not only did he get to play on the big field he kicked a goal too.
"I was just staring at the ball and following where the ball was going and I've been trying to catch the ball," he said.
Riley wrote in his entry; "I have now signed with North Mackay Saints thanks to my Auskick experience. My passion is to play for the Bombers one day! Thanks Auskick."
He said he got some really good handballs in the game and his favourite part was handballing to Blake in the game although after seeing the Lions play, Riley now wants to play for them.
Blake's dad Brad Hanks said his son had not stopped talking about the game since the weekend.
