Mercy College and Mackay North State High School have taken out their respective divisions in the 2015 AFL Queensland Youth Girls Cup for the Mackay region.
Mercy College dominated the Under 15 Division, not dropping a single game but were tested by a dogged Mackay North State High School in the Grand-Final. Led by women's representative and Bakers Creek Premier Women's players Lauren Bella and Ebony Rix, Mercy College declared themselves as a female footy power-house at Harrup Park.
In the Open Division Mackay North State High School went on a goal-kicking spree, defeating Pioneer State High School in the Grand-Final by 75-points.
Mackay North State High School students dominated the individual awards with Courtney Sleeman taking out the Under 15 competition MVP award and Felicity Morris receiving the Open Division award. Each school received a specially designed #GirlsPlayToo footy to pass onto their best player.
