Welcome Steve Williams

AFL Goldfields is thrilled to announce the appointment of Steve Williams to the position of Operations Manager to the Riddell District FNL. Steve replacing Toby Boyle who took up a role as Commercial & Regional Operations Manager with AFL Yarra Ranges after spending 7 years with the organisation.

Many people associated with the RDFNL will already know Steve as he been involved with the Gisborne Rookies Junior Football Netball Club for the past few years in many various roles and is really looking forward to the challenge of running the RDFNL competition.

Professional History.

  • 25 years’ experience in Banking, Finance & IT industry, with much of that time spent in people care management, finance management & account business management.
  • Vast experience dealing with diverse teams of people across several countries in Asia Pacific, where training & mentoring were key aspects of the role, together with process documentation
  • Have a well-developed understanding of MS Excel & its capabilities, having compiled a number of databases to support finance & business teams

Football Background

  • Played all junior & senior football with Woodend & Kyneton
  • Member of Woodend Hesket senior team when Runner Up in 1988
  • U14 Coach at Gisborne Rookies 2013-2015 (Premiers 2013 & 2015, RU 2014)
  • Nominated for Coach of the Year award AFCA NW Region in 2014
  • Committee Member & Coach Coordinator at Gisborne Rookies for start of 2016 season, before appointment to position of Operations Manager
  • Passion for developing young players and growing the game in general
