At Water Polo New South Wales (WPNSW) we take pride in our coaching staff. We aim to produce high caliber coaches in a supportive and constructive environment.
WPNSW understands the influences that a coach has on an athlete’s life, in the physical and psychological planes, within water polo and other environments. For these reasons we promote our coaches to embrace an engaging, contemporary and open minded pedagogy.
We are continually developing coaching frameworks, and provide our coaches with ongoing training to ensure the best coaches are chosen for our state and country representative teams. WPNSW also recognises that coaches must be provided with direction and constructive feedback to produce an effective environment for our athletes. Our developing framework combines the Australian Sports Commission’s, National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) with the practical experience supplied through WPNSW coaching clinics and representative team environments.
The NCAS aims to offer education and a nationally recognised qualification to people coaching at all levels.
The combined theory and practical experience allows coaches to progress with strategic direction in a nurtured environment. WPNSW provides support to our coaches so they are given the opportunity to coach at various events and tournaments with access to a variety of players with differing and developing skills. The aim is to offer, those at all levels, education and a nationally recognised qualification.
