APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER POSITION WITH BASKETBALL AUCKLAND

 

 Basketball Auckland Association is the Regional Sporting Organisation responsible for the development, promotion, governance and control of basketball throughout the Auckland city region. We are looking for a dynamic new member to our team for the role of Development Manager – Basketball.

The Development Manager position will be responsible for the organisation and support to development coordinators, the facilitation and delivery of the Coach Education program, player development program, Coaching In Schools program and higher performing basketball programs. This full time role is based in the Association’s office in Auckland and will report to the General Manager – Basketball Auckland.

The successful candidate will need to effectively communicate with coaches, players, teachers, association personnel, support staff and external providers involved with Basketball in the Auckland area.

Required Skills/Experience
• Initiative, drive, and passion
• Planning and organisation skills – can prioritise work activities, uses time efficiently
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal; presents ideas clearly and concisely
• Detail oriented
• Adapts to frequent changes and manages competing demands
• Tertiary qualification preferred, but not compulsory
• After-hours and weekend work may be required
• An understanding of higher performing development frameworks and pathways an advantage
• Previous experience in event or logistics management and/or elite development programmes an advantage
