Congratulations  to the New Plymouth U17 Girls team who came 4th at the Zone 3 Premierships held over last weekend here in New Plymouth at the TSB Stadium.

Played in a round robin format, the girls did what was required to get through to the National Tournament scheduled to be held in the North Shore over Queens Birthday weekend June 3rd-5th. Coached by Trent Adam in a last minute change to the management team, the girls responded and qualified in fourth place. The top four teams from each of the four zones compete at the Nationals in the 16 team tournament all vying for the top spot and/or ranking from one to sixteen in the country.

The U17 Boys didn't achieve their goal of gaining a top four spot at the tournament. Up against stiff competition from Hawkes Bay and Hutt Valley they qualified third in their pool forcing them into a playoff for 5th & 6th position. The top 2 from each of the two pools automatically qualified for a place at the Nationals.

The U17 Boys Development team did themselves proud coming in at a credible 8th position in the field of eleven teams.
