Lacrosse made its debut in the 2014 Caica Cup, with a match played to 5-a-side mixed non-contact rules. The Caica Cup is an annual one-day multi-sport carnival between Henley High School and St Michael's College, and is named for Paul Caica
..., the local state Member of Parliament for Colton in the Henley Beach area.
There was an interesting flavour to the match. With players from Glenelg and Woodville Lacrosse Clubs at both schools, the participants were playing with club opponents and competing against club teammates.
In a high-skilled and competitive match played to good spirits, scores were locked at 5-a-piece at quarter time. St Michael's got a break in the second quarter though, outscoring Henley 6 goals to 2. While Henley rallied back to get within one goal later in the match, St Michael's prevailed with a 17-14 victory over Henley High.
Congratulations to Bree Richards from St Michael's College on being awarded the game MVP medal. See More
