2015 Senior Grand Finals

First Grade – Casey Warriors vs Werribee Bears
Casey Warriors and Werribee Bears fought out the top spot in the NRL Victoria First Grade division, with Casey Warriors finishing the season in top spot. Werribee finished just one point behind Casey. The two clubs met three times in the 2015 season before the Grand Final, with Werribee Bears victorious in both regular season matches winning 46-32 and 38-24. The two met in the Second Semi Final where Casey Warriors won 28-16. With both teams confident they can come away with the title, and going by form it looked to be a close, high scoring match. The Grand Final was exactly that, with Casey Warriors winning 30-22. With Casey leading 18-6 at halftime, Werribee came charging back to lead the match, but Casey were good enough to take back control of the match and come away as 2015 NRL Victoria First Grade Champions.

Second Division – Waverley Panthers vs North West Wolves Black

North West Wolves Black and Waverley Panthers both had successful seasons in 2015, with Wolves Black narrowly finishing on top of the Second Division ladder by one point over Waverley Panthers. These two clubs had met four times in the 2015 season, sharing the spoils with 2 wins apiece. Waverley Panthers had won the first two clashes 24-20 and 42-22 with Wolves Black earning a 24-4 victory before a 36-24 in the semi-finals earnt them a Grand Final spot. It was Waverley Panthers who were the best team on the day and emerged 22-18 winners in a tough and tight match.

Womens Tackle – South Eastern Titans vs Casey Warriors

South Eastern Titans were the best team in the Womens Tackle competition in 2015 and finished on top of the division ladder by a clear 5 points. Casey Warriors had a tough season, but in a small competition finished third on the ladder. Casey defeated Werribee Bears to earn their Grand Final spot against the Titans. With five meetings between the two clubs in the 2015 season, Titans had won four matches, winning 18-8, 24-8, 24-10 and 14-4 with the clubs fighting out an 8-8 draw as well. The Grand Final was a close see-sawing match, with South Eastern Titans holding on to a late Casey flurry on the try-line to win 10-8.

Womens Tag – Altona Roosters vs Doveton Steelers

Doveton Steelers had finished the Women’s Tag division as minor premiers, sitting 4 points clear of second placed Altona Roosters. The two times met each other on four occasions in 2015 with Altona winning the first clash 10-6, Doveton Steelers winning 14-4 in the regular season and winning 12-0 in the semi-finals, with an 8-8 draw being fought out during the season as well. On Grand Final day it was Altona who would be victorious in a low scoring 10-0 victory.
