Jordin Leiu Wins Greg Brentnall Young Achievers Award

Jordin Leiu has capped off an exceptional year on the field for Casey Warriors and Victoria this year, by winning the Greg Brentnall Young Achievers Award at the Melbourne Storm Player of the Year Awards on Tuesday night at Crown Palladium.
After starting his career at the age of 9 with South Eastern Titans, Leiu has a rich itinerary in terms of footballing accolades in the representative programs. He first represented Victoria in 2011 at the U/12 National Championships in Melbourne, which created a strong pathway for his development in Rugby League.
In 2017, Jordin was a member of the Victorian under-20s team who competed in the Queensland FOGS Cup competition, in which he was named as the teams ‘Best Forward’.
From there, he represented Victoria at the Combined Affiliated States Schoolboys Championships in Adelaide in June, where Jordin played a massive role in the ninth consecutive victory in the competition for the team, being named ‘Player of the Tournament’.
With his dominance shown in the Affiliated State Championships, Leiu was named in the Team of the Tournament, where they would take on the powerhouse states of Queensland and New South Wales at the Under 18 National Championships in Sydney.
Leiu capped off a strong representative year, being named the Combined Affiliates States ‘Most Valuable Player’ for the tournament.
Leiu, in amidst of his representative commitments, was also a strong contributor to the success of Casey Warriors in the First Grade competition, who narrowly lost the Grand Final to Werribee Bears.
