Fixtures - Mal Meninga/Cyril Connell Cup

The fixtures for the Mal Meninga & Cyril Connell Cups have been released by the QRL.
Victoria will host three home games at Casey Fields, and will travel to Queensland on three occasions as well.

NRL Victoria Pathways & Coaching Manager Ryan Walker is delighted with Victoria's involvement again this year, "We are so pleased to be invited back by QRL for a second year to participate in such a great competition, it's an invaluable experience for the Victorian players to play against Queensland's best U16's and U18's"

In the revamped draw for the U16's and U18's competitions, it sees the competition broken up into 4 pools of 4 teams. Two teams from each pool will progress to an updated finals system where they will take on a teams from other pools during finals.
Also in the new structure, the scoring system has been ameneded to allow 5 points up for grabs from each game, 1 point for winning each half and 3 points for winning the match.

On Saturday 30th January, both squads will be playing in house trials at Casey Fields to help the Coaching Staff finalise their squads.
"After a strong pre-season the boys are looking forward to playing some trials in the lead up to Round 1 against Wynnum Manly on Sunday 6th March in Brisbane", Walker said.
