THE national women's hockey team took another beating at the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 in New Delhi, losing to Malaysia 0-12.

National coach Shaun Corrie was disappointed with the team's performance said they failed to stick to the game plan.

"We set up a game plan but they didn't stick to it. They didn't concentrate and the defence was way below par.

"The defence need to be tightened up," he said.

Corrie said they missed Camellia Bentley who is out with the knee injury and youngest player Tiara Dutta who got sick before that match and was taken to hospital.

The Malaysian girls showed they were ranked higher than our team.

In the first half they were sitting comfortably on 4-0.

Corrie also complained about some of the calls made by the umpires saying they could not understand why certain calls were made.

'The first few calls set us back," he said.

"Their calls are not consistent like in all our other four games."

The former national captain said they wouldn't want to go back home winless.

The team will play Kazhakstan in their final match of the league today.

"We really need this game, we don't want to go back home disappointed."

The men's team plays Bangladesh today and Oman tomorrow.
