Telecom Fiji supports Basketball Championship

SUVA, (NOVEMBER 30) Telecom Fiji Limited has signed a sponsorship agreement valued at FJD 24,000.00 to provide telecommunications services for the upcoming Oceania Basketball Championships on 4 to 11 December, 2016.

The sponsorship will cover the provision of internet services to the games venue to allow for its broadcast via live stream to the world as well as a professional laser printer and Easytel telephones for voice communications.

Basketball Fiji’s Chief Operating Officer Mr. Laisiasa Puamau says that this sponsorship by leading telecommunications company, Telecom Fiji Limited, will enable sports viewers across the region and worldwide to witness the level of athleticism in Oceania and follow the progress of the 8 countries that will be competing.

The Oceania Basketball Championships will see Australia, Fiji, Guam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tahiti compete for first place in both the men and women’s category for the U18 division. The winners in each category will qualify for the U19 World Championship 2017.
