What is Futsal?

Futsal is 5-a-side indoor soccer which originated in Latin America in the 1930’s and has been the foundation of skills form any famous football players such as Pele, Ronaldo, Neymar and many more. Futsal is now played in over 100 countries worldwide with many countries having their own professional leagues providing opportunities for players to potentially play overseas. Futsal is played on a basketball sized indoor court which means that there is a high speed of play and also players get a lot more touches on the ball which accelerates their foots skill development.

Melbourne Brasil Futsal is a unique futsal provider because we provide futsal as a sport all year around. We are able to provide high quality coaching and competitions because we run all year around and have upwards of 150 registered members currently and growing. Another reason why we are one of the major providers of futsal nationwide is because at Melbourne Brasil Futsal we welcome players of all skill levels, unlike other academies we believe in developing players from beginners to advanced and further in a friendly and nurturing environment. We also invest in players by having them help assist our Head Coach during the academy, training them to be the furture generation of Futsal Coaches.

 

Meet our head Coach!

Our head coach Gui Costa is also the founder of MBFA which was established in 2013. The inspiration for Melbourne Brasil Futsal Academy came from Gui’s Brazilian heritage and his passion for Futsal which he hopes to pass onto as many players as possible.

Gui has almost two decades coaching at highest levels having travelled to more than 15 countries to coach Futsal (view Gui’s full credentials under the profile tab). The Academy also has a group of qualified coaches that are trained under Gui to ensure that all players are learning the Brazilian way of playing that encourages playing from the back and teaches the players on how to take the ball to the final stages of the game. All of this is only possible with relentless focus on skills  development to bring the player to the level of confidence that they need to use the ball successfully under pressure retaining possession and moving forward with it

.

What programs does MBFA offer?

MBFA is more than just an academy and have a range of programs available from development academies suitable for beginners and also our Advanced academies. We cater for ages from U8-U17 and also offer Futsal competitions in Term 4.
