PM Peter O'Neil visited the sporting venues to urge competing PNG athletes on. He was at the Power Dome where the weightlifting was being held. Other top officials were present as well.

International Zone open for fun, games and entertainment.

Venue Supervisor Isabelle Hurstel says the International Zone is open for fun and entertainment. The zone has pool tables, stage for cultural items and karaoke and cinema for shows. There's a supermarket and Vodafone & B mobile outlets.

Pini is a three-time Olympian having competed in London 2012, Beijing 2008 and Athens 2004.

PORT MORESBY, July 5 – Fifteen gold medals will be determined in four sports on Monday, the fourth day of competition at the Port Moresby 2015 Pacific Games.

In shooting, there will be two gold medals up for grabs in the men’s and women’s 10m air pistol event.

PORT MORESBY, July 5 – Erika Yamasaki (AUS) stole gold from Papua New Guinean favourite Dika Toua (PNG) with a massive 179kg total in the 53kg women’s weightlifting at the PNG Power Dome on Sunday.

PORT MORESBY, 03 JUNE 2015 (PACNEWS) --- Athletes from 22 Pacific Island Countries and Territories competing at the Pacific Games were welcomed in a flag raising ceremony held at the Games village in Port Moresby.

Participating teams marched from the junction of the University of Papua new Guinea to the Games Village led by the PNG Defence Force band.

PORT MORESBY, 03 JULY 2015 (POST COURIER) --- Pacific Games guest of honour Prince Andrew arrived in Port Moresby Thursday on Papua New Guinea’s VIP carrier – the Kumul Falcon jet.
He was greeted with a 21-gun salute as he stepped off the plane at Jackson International Airport where Caritas School students presented a flower garland while a traditional welcome ceremony was staged.
