Becoming a Yachting NSW Member Club
Yachting NSW is the peak body responsible for the development and promotion of the sport of sailing in New South Wales.
The process of affiliation means that a Club becomes a member of Yachting NSW. As a member club of Yachting NSW you receive benefits designed to enhance your experience of the sport of sailing. These include access to administrative advice and support, and assistance with skill development.
Membership also allows your club to take part in national and international competition, by allowing you to conduct events and races under Australian Sailing and International Sailing Federation (ISAF) rules and regulations.
Members of NSW sailing clubs are entitled to a AS number which gives each and every member of your club personal and accident insurance cover whether racing, cruising, volunteering or officiating. The AS number identifies the individual as a member of an affiliated club.
Applying to become a Yachting NSW member club requires you to submit the following:
2. Provide a copy of your club Constitution
3. Copy of you clubs Certificate of Incorporation
4. A high resolution jpeg of your clubs burgee/flag
All member clubs pay an annual affiliation fee according to a banding model. Member clubs are allocated to a band by the YNSW Board. Each band has a corresponding annual fee.
These fees are paid annually and are charged as a single invoice to your club on 30 September which is due 31 October each year.
New clubs applying for affiliation will have their fee determined by the YNSW board once all documentation is received.
Please note that be an affilaited club under the Yachting NSW Constitution;your club must have at least 10 members. All current members of affiliated clubs must have their details entered in the national database.
