Oceania AYOF Team Seizing the Opportunity

“If you had one shot or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted, one moment, would you capture it or just let it slip?"

This is the question posed to the best of our young Pacific athletes, as our Combined Oceania Team trains in Auckland in preparation for this week's Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

Players and coaches from New Caledonia, Fiji, Tahiti and Tonga have been trained by a variety of coaches, including Tom Armstrong and Ji Hyun at their Auckland Badminton base, as well as a highly motivating weekend spent with Tony Mordaunt at North Harbour.

Players have enthusiastically absorbed information and improved dramatically, as well as gaining confidence in their combinations and growing as a team.  The team is really excited about heading to Sydney and taking on the challenge of playing China in the first team tie on Wednesday.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
