2016 GM Academy Under 14 & Under 15 Squads Released
I would like to congratulate you all and thank you for your interest in our inaugural AFL Goulburn Murray Academy.
Selection is never an easy process and we acknowledge that it is also not a perfect science.
For those that have missed out on this occasion, our motto has become: “be disappointed but don’t be disillusioned”.
Remember that it is only our opinion at this stage and there is every chance that many of you will jump ahead of some of the selected players in future years if you continue to apply yourselves and work hard.
For those that have been lucky enough to be selected, congratulations. Remember, that you will also need to work hard and apply yourself moving forwards to ensure future success – there are no guarantees.
Our first squad commitment will be a testing night to be held at Notre Dame College Shepparton on Monday 22nd February.
Full details of this night will be communicated next week.
Remember that our primary communication tool moving forwards will be the Team App. We would ask all selected players and their parents with a mobile phone to register for the Team App. We will also have an AFL Goulburn Murray Academy section on our website. http://www.goulburnmurrayafl.com.au/

My sincere thanks to all parents for supporting your son’s involvement in the program. For those that are also feeling disappointed for their child, please try to stay positive and supportive and reinforce the message that this is just a small bump in the road. History would tell us that many players develop later and there will always be opportunities for them – plus we don’t always get it right!
