All Registered Training Organisations require real work experience in a commercial work place to gain the competency required for assessment. You can request your training provider to place you with Australian Cruise Academy for your industry experience placement.
There is no maximum time limit with Academy to gain assessment as competent. Some gain competency quickly. Some take considerable time. Some just can not achieve it and should look at other options. Academy Masters will assist and guide trainees in these matters.
Trainees from various training organisations are offered full time volunteer residential Scholarship for their commercial industry placement in our cruise ship programs. The value of the scholarship is not taxable income. No employment offer is implied. It is an opportunity for you to gain the essential qualifying commercial experience and competency. It is reasonable that you volunteer your full time and contribute to your board and lodging in your placement. International trainees will require an Australian Marine Crew Visa to enter the ship.
