Winter Training Programs
by NSW Flying 11 Association
With 100 boats expected to compete in the Nationals at Manly, the NSW Flying 11 Association is organising a winter training programme for those who want to improve their skills before next season starts…
We’ve nominated Felix Grech, 2011 Flying 11 National Champion, as Head Coach and we will organise more coaches depending on numbers committed to the program and skill level.
Each coach can manage up to 8 boats, provided they are at a similar standard.
We anticipate 10 – 12 days of coaching between the April school holidays and up to mid-August. This is roughly one day every second weekend and the coaching is expected to be hosted by different clubs including Belmont, Hunters Hill, Lane Cove, Northbridge, Vaucluse, Middle Harbour and Manly to cover where most of the Flying 11’s sail.
Estimated cost is $400 per person and we are discouraging people from opting in and opting out as we are convinced that the greatest improvements will come from being part of your small squad, training together.
Please register your interest by completing the following form and emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org by 2 April.
The Association reserves the right to limit numbers and to have a selection process (possibly a sailing trial) to determine the squads. Whilst we are anticipating a ‘top skills squad’ and an ‘intermediate squad’, we will consider a ‘learn to sail a Flying 11’ squad if there is enough interest.
