AGM

We held an AGM last night.  Please welcome, Jane King, Hugh Maslin, Bill Cromarty, Penny Cromarty and Bernd Meyer to the new Executive.  Some positions for the general committee have not yet been filled.  Tony Van Galen from the Midway Point Sailing Club will be approached to be the southern representative on the committee

Strategic plan

A  Strategic plan was passed which has been posted on the TYC website at /?ID=47751 for anyone that is interested

Training

We ratified a winter training program as shown below.  We wanted to give our sailors plenty of opportunity to get organised and to continue their development.  We are hopeful to get experienced instructors down from Sydney for the August and September training camps.  The September training will include the TYC Intermediate sailing school.  The other dates have been organised by the TSA.

Repair boats

The Tas F11 Association wants to repair the two TYC club boats to encourage two new skippers and crew ready for season 2010-11.

Try f11 day on winter working bee

We also want to hold a ‘Try a F11’ day to attract new sailors to the class.  At this stage it has been proposed to coincide with one of the TYC winter working bees.

Visits to Primary Schools in August

We intend to visit a number of primary schools to attract new sailors to TYC and to sail Oppies and F11s.

TYC Club F11 boats for hire

We intend to repair the two F11s to a good standard ready for two new skippers and crew to sail in 2010-11.  Please see Mitch Ranson or Bernd Meyer about hiring the boats

Boats for sale

Word has it a number of boats are for sale.  Owners have been contacted to see if they want to advertise their boats on the Tas F11 Association website on /?ID=46588

 Nationals wash up

The Presidents Report highlighted again the great effort by the Tas F11 Association and TYC in hosting the 2010 F11 National Championships.  The national association is trying to develop the national profile of the F11s by supporting Tasmania and Queensland to build up their fleets.  They have promised to support our training programs and general development.

Nest F11 meeting

Next meeting for the Tas F11 Association is Tuesday 28th July at the Tamar Yacht club at 7-30.

Nest issue

I am hoping that the next issue will be out before the first winter training weekend in August
