2009-2010 NSW F11 State Championships - Late Fees From 12 Midnight Tonight

Tonight at midnight Late Fees will apply (an extra $30) for entries to the biggest Flying 11 fleet championship in decades. For those that simply do not have all the required information at hand for crews etc, simply put in a "TBA" where required and then forward this information later to flying.elevens@gmail.com and we will edit your entires for you.

Also, if you wish to grab a t-shirt after you have already entered, changed your mind etc, simply go back to the YA Events menu - 28th or 29th Nov dates of our site - and click on Order T-Shirt ONLYThis quality regatta t-shirt (click here for a sneak look) is an optional extra offered by Gill at $18 each. You’ll most likely want to wear it everywhere as this will be a momentous occasion for the class and a wonderful experience for you to remember. It’s now a fact other sailors regard the Flying 11 sailors with a high degree of skill and respect. It’s a “must have” to show off a little around the waterfront.

All the Race Documents are now posted on our website under our F11 Calendar for you to join in. You can also find information in the feature box on the home page.

Housekeeping - Please have your boat registration done through your club delegates and your boats measured by your club measurer prior to arriving at the states; we will be doing spot checks this time to assist your preparation for the nationals. Let’s have our boats in order so everyone is compliant and there are no last minute distractions to attend to on day 1.

Note in the NoR (Notice of Race) This has been in our NoRs since 2006 and obviously differs from the 38.6kgs mentioned in the F11 National Constitution, allowing for boats to be measured with various sheets and items that no longer require removal prior to the weigh-in etc.

1.3.2. Part B, Clause 3.1 (Ballast and Weight) is amended to read "Minimum hull weight,

including all fixed fittings, e.g., rudder brackets, mast step, genoa block tracks,

cleats, is 39 kg. Included in this weight can be spinnaker sheets and tweaker lines,

jib tweakers, jib luff control lines, cunningham control lines, mainsheet bridle,

hatch covers, a centreboard retention system, spinnaker bags or equivalent,

towing eye and toe straps. The weight shall not include main or jib sheets, sails,

foils, spars or stay adjustment systems".

F11 Training Camp 21st - 23rd December - Middle Harbour 16'SC

Just an early reminder that our pre-nationals F11 Training camp will be on again at Middle Harbour 16’SC for three days starting Monday 21st December. We will be inviting other pathway classes to join us on this occasion and it promises to be a real bonus for crews to polish up on skill and tactics in preparation for their respective National Championships. It will also be a social gathering of all invited youth class sailors – sort of like a Xmas Party for our young sailors. Plenty of fun to be had with some hard work thrown in.

Application will again be done via our on-line system. Click here later on in the week to apply to enter this training camp, and to view further details of the programme.

Have you heard the NSW Flying Eleven Sailing Association have introduced the F11 Helping-Hand Programme which is designed to offer assistance to sailing clubs who are in the process of introducing or have recently introduced the Flying Eleven class to their clubs. Utilising our own Flying 11 sailor Instructors, we travel around the countryside running "try F11 sailing" to new crews, helping to establish their club's sail training programmes and providing important resources and links to many of our Flying 11 products and services, as well as a great introduction to the Flying 11 "way-of-life".

Presently, we are working with Vaucluse SC, Woollahra SC and Northbridge SC, and I'll have more to say on this and a few other F11 community services in our future newsletters.

Congratulations to the new McGrath 2009 Flying Eleven Upper Harbour Champions Natalie Greentree and Harry Price and all the crews who managed to rake up some cash in the Dash For Cash hosted by Lane Cove 12ft Skiff SC early on in November.

For now, this newsletter needs to hit the web in time to get you all entered to our NSW Championships before the extra fees come into play.

Take another look on the Nationals menu for regular updates on our approaching National Titles in January at Beauty Point, Tasmania......................

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
