The Flying Eleven Sailing Association of NSW Inc had their AGM on the Tuesday night of the 22nd May 2007 at the newly renovated Balgowlah RSL, with light refreshments being served to all those who were in attendance.
The regular NSW monthly meeting was incorporated into the evenings procedings, with this meeting starting at 7:45pm.
David Price (Nat. Pres) was invited to outline the new sailing season's calendar, with a number of inclusions to the training programmes of previous seasons. All details can be view on the CALENDAR
In general business, it was agreed that a Past Champions Race be organised and advertised as a showcase event in the 2008 Nationals programme. It was also announced that the 29er class and the Flying Elevens intend to combine their State Sprints Titles at the same venue this year. Date confirmation and arrangements with the Hunters Hill Sailing Club are yet to be formalised but early signs were positive. Further discussion ensued in relation to identifying a pathway for young sailors outside the strictly international class options currently supported by the YNSW and YA organisations, with this conjoining of fleets a great first step, enthusiastically embraced by the 29ers and F11s, with a view to also include the Manly Junior Class. Some discussion with the Sabots indicated they had a full agenda at least for this coming season, but would like to be included in future discussions.
With the conclusion of the general meeting, the AGM commenced at 8:23pm. Lionel McFadyen presented and tabled his NSW President's Report, which will be appended to the annual report to go to the Dept. of Fair Trading in due course. The NSW President's Reportis linked here

In general business, suggestions were made in order to increase club numbers that our members bring a friend along with a parent from outside the normal circle of sailing. In order to improve participation at meetings, phone conferencing with remote clubs should be employed.
It was also suggested the AGMs be held during the season rather than afterwards, with the best option being at the 1st round of the NSW State Championships.
The meeting wound up at 9:10pm where they retired to the refreshments area for some chit chat and socialising.
