Life jackets

Life Jackets

New Standard Life Jackets required on all boats in Tasmania in 2020.

Everyone who owns a life jacket must, by the year 2020, replace jackets labelled with the old Australian Standards numbers,  1512, 1499 and 2260. This Australian Standard was made redundant  in 2010 and will all be written out of legislation in the year 2020.

All life jackets in use on Tasmanian boats will need to adhere to the new standard AS4758.1 by 1 Jan 2020. MAST has “grandfathered “ the older styled jackets for 10 years.

MacIntyre Cup for Mirrors

Multiple races for all other classes

In conjunction with the MacIntyre Cup for Mirror sailors, the club is holding a Pot Luck dinner on Saturday November 25th from 17:30.  Included in your ticket price for a two course meal is a presentation by a Pot Luck speaker; come and hear about life after KBSC for our young people.

For this event we have been fortunate to secure Susie Graney. Susie has been involved in boats, sailing and salt water since birth. In January 1998 Susie joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Seaman officer and spent the next 18 years living and working in all states, except SA.  She has served on a range of different vessels including the STS Young Endeavour, Patrol boats, Frigates and Replenishment ships with several operational deployments. Since 2016 Susie has worked on the Windeward Bound where she shares her passion for youth development and teaching, a keen love of sailing and all things maritime.

Interested members and friends are warmly invited to come along to the evening. The evening will conclude by 19:30pm.

Cost is $12 pp, with a family $35.  Drinks available for purchase. RSVP is essential for catering. areynolds@kbsc.org.au
