Constitution of the Largs Bay Sailing Club

The Constitution of the Largs Bay Sailing Club describes the fundamental principles and established precedents according to which the club should to be governed.
The Constitution may only be changed or amended with the approval of a quorum of voting members at a special general meeting or a the annual general meeting.
The constitution should be read in conjunction with other documents, which explain the policy, by-laws and other operating guidelines, that are issued by the managemnet committee of the sailing club.
The goals of the Largs Bay Sailing Club are described in Paragraph 2, "Objects":
2. OBJECTS - The objects for which the Club is established are:
2.1 To foster, encourage and promote the sport of sailing and to provide facilities for its members to assist them in their participation in the sport of sailing.
2.2 To do all things which the Club or Committee think necessary or desirable for promoting the recreation, accommodation and comfort of its members.
2.2.1 To make sure arrangements as are thought desirable whether by purchase leasing or license for the use by the Club of land and premises as may be necessary or suitable for the purposes of or conveniently used in connection with any of the objects of the Club.
2.2.2 To take all such steps as are necessary or desirable to enable the Club to abide by the Licensing Legislation for the time being in force in the State of South Australia.
2.2.3 To do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of any of the above objects.
