Duties of elected officials and staff at LBSC
The Management Committee of the Largs Bay SC is elected annually by the members in accordance with the Constitution of the Largs Bay SC.
The elected members will perform the duties allocated to the various roles including the President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, three Flag Offficers and the Sailing Secretary and four Chairpersons with responsibility for the management of specific areas; House (bar facilities), Building, Galley and Social. There are four other committee members without specified responsibilities, who may have special skills and experience to support the other committee members.
The management committee may also choose to employ staff to undertake other duties related to the efficient running of specific areas of the club operations. This may include bar staff, race officials and persons to undertake roles requiring specific qualifications and skills.
The following role decriptions are provided for the interest of members and staff.
The House Chairperson is elected by members at the AGM for a two-year period to manage the operation of the club bar facilities and to employ and supervise staff, who work in the bars.
The House Chairperson will form and chair a House Sub-committee comprising at least 4 persons, who will have the responsibility to make recommendations for the operation the LBSC licenced bars.
The House Chairperson reports to the monthly management meetings any recommendations of the House Sub-committees for operational changes to improve the operation and profitability of the club bars.

The Bar Supervisor is a paid position at the LBSC, employed on casual basis at bar operating hours determined by the Management Committee.
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for the management of the bar facilities at the Largs Bay Sailing Club.
The Bar Supervisor will ensure that the bar is suitably stocked and staffed during club trading hours and when the club facilities are hired out for private functions.
The Bar Supervisor shall work in cooperation with other bar staff, the House Chairperson and the management of the LBSC to provide food and beverage service to members and visitors in a manner consistent with LBSC procedures.

Barpersons will be employed to work with volunteer staff to to provide food and beverage service to members and visitors in a manner consistent with LBSC bar service procedures.
Barpersons will attend and work in the bar during their rostered hours, as determined by the Bar Supervisor and the House Chairman to meet the needs of members and persons who hire the club facilities.
