Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Community Hub to be officially opened this weekend
The official opening of the Community Hub at The Dock, a joint project by City of Melbourne, Places Victoria and Lendlease will take place this Saturday, February 20th from 10am.
Join us to celebrate this new facility for Docklands residents, housing family services such as maternal and child health and playgroups, plus a centre for recreational boating activities.
The event commences at 10am with a traditional Welcome to Country ceremony and will be followed by official speeches from Minister for Planning Richard Wynne MP, the Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and Lendlease Project Director Tim Campbell.
Boating activities, family entertainment and a barbeque will continue until 1pm.
Docklands Yacht Club and our co-tenants, Melbourne Outrigger Canoe Club and Dragon Boats Victoria will be running 'come try' events and there will be face painting, a sausage sizzle and coffee cart.
